Daily Briefing

Key Takeaways

• Russia launched ~1,600 guided bombs, 48 missiles, and 2,300 drones at Ukraine in a single week; overnight on 24–25 October alone, 153 UAVs were fired with 119 shot down — strikes hit at least 14 oblasts and killed at least 3 in Synelnykove, Dnipropetrovsk Oblast.
• Ukraine's deep-strike campaign hit multiple Russian defense-industrial targets in the past 36 hours: the AVISMA titanium plant in Perm Krai (~1,700 km from Ukraine), the Energiya battery/accumulator plant in Yelets (Lipetsk Oblast) with Storm Shadow missiles, the Proton-Electrotex semiconductor plant in Oryol (satellite imagery confirms functional destruction), and the Omsky Kauchuk rubber plant in Omsk (~2,500 km from Ukraine).
• Diplomacy is accelerating: Zelensky proposed trilateral technical talks with the US and Russia that could end the war in November, outlining energy ceasefire, Black Sea ceasefire, grain corridors, and all-for-all POW exchanges as prerequisites; the Kremlin confirmed readiness to resume talks after November 4.
• Elon Musk confirmed Starlink's loophole enabling Ukrainian lethal drone strikes was closed last week — a significant constraint on Ukrainian drone warfare — while Reuters reports US ballistic missile early-warning data sharing with Ukraine has been fully restored after a recent disruption.
• Sanctioned Russian energy giant Novatek secretly funded a US gas project linked to Trump envoys Witkoff and Kushner's September Kremlin visit, raising serious sanctions-evasion and conflict-of-interest concerns for US peace diplomacy.
